Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center provides high-quality, comprehensive, and culturally appropriate primary health care to the communities immediately west of Portland, Oregon, with a special emphasis on those with barriers to receiving care.

Program Highlights

  • Community Health Center (CHC), Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and Tier-3 “Optimal” Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) training environments
  • Founded in 1975 to serve migrant farm workers; now caring for individuals and families year-round
  • 75 languages spoken in the Virginia Garcia CHC Network
  • Serving the underserved (mostly uninsured or public insurance)
  • A thriving, resident-driven Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT/OMM) practice
  • Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system that interfaces with many nearby hospital systems
  • Inpatient rotations within the Legacy Health System and affiliated Internal Medicine residency
