 The Wright Center for Primary Care in Mid Valley

Since 1999, we have served patients in the Mid Valley region. Healthcare services for children and adults are provided using the Patient-Centered Medical Home model to coordinate care services and meet patients’ physical and behavioral health needs. The Wright Center’s growth aligns with the intention of The Affordable Care Act, converging local and federal funding into Northeast Pennsylvania and partnering communities across the United States. Our clinical operations have been recognized with regional and national awards for excellence, including designation as one of the top 30 most innovative practices in the country by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and selection as an Ambulatory Davies Award recipient by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society in 2015.

PrimeMed Medical Group

This practice is an NCQA level-3 Patient-Centered Medical Home with a focus on acute and chronic health problems. It is also the office of Director of Ostepathic Medical Education, Michael Kondash, DO. The staff at PrimeMed is dedicated to building a continuous relationship based on communication and patient engagement where the ultimate goal is to coordinate their patients’ care to promote wellness and prevent illness.

First Hospital/Family Model Practice

Our Family Model Practice is located in Kingston, Pennsylvania, where we provide patient-centered, continuity care to a large patient panel. The team delivers care for acute and chronic diseases across the age spectrum to individuals from various socio-economic, educational and ethnic backgrounds. Our team of experienced and supportive staff focuses on the healthcare of our patients and the education of residents, resulting in an excellent learning experience for our residents and compassionate and comprehensive care for our patients.

First Hospital

As Northeast Pennsylvania’s only private psychiatric hospital, First Hospital provides inpatient psychiatric treatment for children, adolescents and adults; is accredited by The Joint Commission; and is recognized with Core Measures scores in the top 15% of accredited hospitals across the country. First Hospital is at the center of an integrated mental health delivery system. The 155-bed facility provides an environment conducive to recovery and healing. Personal attention is integral to our treatment philosophy which combines a team of experienced professionals with compassionate and respectful care.

Geisinger Community Medical Center

The Geisinger Community Medical Center is a full-service, Level II trauma, 172-bed hospital located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. New hospital ownership by Geisinger Health System has presented many incredible opportunities to enhance the educational exposure of our residents, inclusive of an integrated health network for specialty referrals and a fully integrated EPIC EMR system. Moses Taylor Hospital

Moses Taylor Hospital is a 217-bed, acute care hospital accredited by the Joint Commission and committed to providing quality, patient- and community-focused healthcare. In excess of 1,000 patients are admitted each year to our teaching services under the direct supervision of Wright Center full and part-time faculty. The Wright Center’s residents also staff the Intensive Care Unit at Moses Taylor under the supervision of volunteer, critical care certified faculty.

Wilkes-Barre General Hospital

Wilkes-Barre General Hospital is Northeast Pennsylvania’s largest community hospital, with 412-beds and a medical staff of more than 400 physicians representing nearly 50 medical and surgical specialties. It has long been recognized for excellence in heart and vascular care, and its emergency department treats nearly 60,000 patients a year.

Wilkes-Barre Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Medical Center

The Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania has greatly enhanced The Wright Center’s educational capacity, offering training opportunities in a medical home model with an aligned team ambulatory clinic and a plethora of (sub)specialties. Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Geriatrics, Oncology, Neurology and Cardiology rotations are particularly attractive to Wright Center residents.
