Catherine”Cathy” Genco brings years of discipline and a strong team mentality to our Patient Engagement Council that she honed over years as an elite athlete and coach. Cathy also has strong business acumen that will be a great asset to the council.
Cathy is a 1985 graduate of Scranton Preparatory School. She received a full athletic scholarship for basketball from Fordham University and went on to complete her degree in 1989, earning a bachelor of arts in Communications. She was awarded a graduate assistantship with the women’s basketball program and subsequently earned her Master’s Business Administration from Fordham’s Graduate School of Business at Lincoln Center in 1991.
That same year, Catherine accepted a position in marketing and operations for the National Invitation Tournament where she was involved in all phases of operations, marketing, contract negotiations and implementation of the Division I National Tournaments and International All Star Tours.
Catherine returned home to Archbald in 1998 to raise her family and work with her husband, Dr. Gerard Genco, at Genco Dental Care, where she manages all business operations. An active volunteer at the youth and high school levels, Catherine has held multiple coaching positions throughout the past 29 years. She is a lifelong advocate of adolescents through her involvement in many programs including St. Joseph’s, the Just Do More program, Our Lady of Peace School, Scranton Preparatory School, Friends of the Poor and others.
