The Wright Center Patient Engagement Council Celebrates a Successful Caring Hearts Panel Discussion and Dinner

The Wright Center Patient Engagement Council (PEC) hosted a Caring Hearts Panel Discussion and Dinner on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Genetti Manor, Dickson City. The event featured a panel discussion led by well-recognized local physicians: Linda Thomas-Hemak, M.D.; Lear Von Koch, M.D.; Dipti Pancholy, M.D.; and Samir Pancholy, M.D. Paola Giangiacomo of WVIA moderated the discussion and Jack Walsh, a member of The Wright Center’s Patient Engagement Council, served as the Master of Ceremonies. The discussion was followed by a lively cocktail hour and buffet style dinner and dancing.

Through ticket sales and a basket raffle, the event raised over $2,000 for the Community Health Hub Driving Better Health Initiative and The Wright Center’s Angel Fund. Both initiatives help patients and their families in our community to overcome care gaps, specifically lack of transportation to high-quality, affordable care.

As an integral component of The Wright Center’s patient engagement initiative, the PEC was founded in March of 2016 to support the partnership between patients and their healthcare providers. The PEC is focused on patient education and patient advocacy and was founded on the belief that patients are the number one stakeholders in their healthcare.
