Michael Irvin Arrington, PhD joined The Wright Center as the Director of Scholarly Activity and Research in September 2017.
In this role, Dr. Arrington will develop the infrastructure and programming to support medical residents’ knowledge of the principles of research, including how research is conducted, evaluated, explained to patients, and applied to patient care. He will collaborate with the organization’s faculty to encourage and support residents in scholarly activities, including research and dissemination of results.
Dr. Arrington earned his doctorate in Communication from the University of South Florida. He was previously on the faculty at Mercer University School of Medicine in Georgia and has an extensive publication and presentation record with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research. He is particularly interested in health communication, narrative inquiry, and communication research methods.
Dr. Arrington, his wife (Tamara), and their three daughters (Mia, Rebekah, and Valerie) look forward to setting their roots in the Scranton community.by
