About

Dr. Lauren Hazzouri is a licensed psychologist and the founder of Hazzouri Psychology, a full-service psychology practice in Scranton. She brings a diverse range of experience to The Wright Center for Community Health’s Board of Directors such as well-being and mental health concerns for young women and individuals.

Dr. Hazzouri is a passionate public speaker who focuses on topics regarding self-esteem, anxiety, body-image and personal mood, serving the local community since 2008. Beginning in 2015, she began speaking at events across the country and internationally to empower women and encourage them to stand up for themselves and one another. Dr. Hazzouri hosts annual workshops for teen girls and their parents free-of-charge and in 2019 launched a free Wellness Club for high school girls in Scranton.

A Scranton native who grew up in the city’s Hill Section, Dr. Hazzouri graduated from Scranton Preparatory School and completed her undergraduate studies at Penn State University where she was an Evan Pugh Scholar and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Upon returning home, she received her Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in Psychology from Marywood University.
