The Wright Center for Community Health Kingston Practice

The Wright Center for Community Health Kingston Practice, previously recognized as the Wilkes-Barre Family Medicine Residency/Wilkes-Barre Academic Medicine, is a full-service family medicine practice in the First Hospital building, Kingston.

The Wright Center for Community Health assumed operations of this practice in July 2019. New and existing patients of all ages are welcome and all insurances are accepted.

From common issues such as the flu and sinus problems to minor infections, yearly checkups and school and sports physicals, The Wright Center for Community Health Kingston team is here to help your family stay healthy. Our primary care providers take into account all aspects of health, including possible mental/behavioral health challenges and addiction/recovery needs. Along with preventive care, we also help patients manage long-term conditions like diabetes, hypertension or heart disease.

We are a learning organization, and patients will see a family medicine resident physician and a board certified family physician faculty member when they visit The Wright Center for Community Health Kingston. A resident physician holds a medical degree and works under the supervision of an attending physician. The patient’s interaction with the residents will help develop them to become the best doctors possible.

We operate as a safety-net provider of care, focused on delivering right-venue, high-quality affordable health services to all patients regardless of insured status. Most insurance plans, including Medical Assistance, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, CHIP, Medicare and more are accepted. If a patient does not have health insurance and is not eligible for Medical Assistance, they may qualify for our sliding fee scale.

For your convenience, same-day sick appointments are often available.

This practice is on the major bus routes, and ample off-street parking is available in the lot behind First Hospital. Emergency care/services are not available within the First Hospital building. If you require immediate care, please visit a local emergency room.
