Meet Carlon

Carlon Preate holds over 40 years of experience as a certified public accountant in northeastern Pennsylvania. Prior to retirement, he supervised operations of a regional branch of Parente Beard LLC (an independent consulting and accounting firm, formerly Parente Randolph) as the partner in charge of the northeast practice region. Carlon has offered consulting, accounting and auditing services for a variety of for-profit and non-profit companies as well. A graduate of Scranton Preparatory School, he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Scranton and his MBA at New York University.

Carlon sits on several of the organization’s boards and currently chairs both The Wright Center Alliance and The Wright Center for Community Health board. He also serves on the Diocese of Scranton’s Finance Council and is a board member for the Women’s Resource Center, The University of Scranton Kania School of Management Advisory Board and Northeastern Child Care Services, based in Scranton. He is a past president of the Downtown Scranton Business Association and of the Planning Council for Social Services. He is also a former director of the United Way of Lackawanna County and former director of the Country Club of Scranton.

Carlon lives in Clarks Summit with his wife, Pat. He has two children, Katie and Samantha, who reside in New Jersey and New York, respectively. In his free time, Carlon loves giving back to the community and traveling to Nantucket, Massachusetts. He also considers himself to be a wine connoisseur and enjoys crossword puzzles.
