Dr. Spring grew up in Dallas. After graduating high school, she was accepted into a six-year program between Wilkes University and Hahnemann Medical College (now known as Drexel University) that resulted in both a bachelor’s degree and a medical degree. She returned to northeast Pennsylvania to complete her residency at the Wyoming Valley Family Medicine Residency (now known as The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Family Medicine Residency) and has practiced in northeast Pennsylvania ever since.

Dr. Spring has been involved in teaching since her own residency, and now works with students at The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education and Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. She says her favorite part of teaching is guiding students through the transition from inexperienced interns to competent, caring family physicians. Dr. Spring is also interested in adolescent and geriatric medicine, and has certificates of added qualification (CAQ) in both areas. She is president of the Luzerne County Medical Society and a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, and the American Academy of Family Practice.

In her free time, Dr. Spring never passes up the chance to watch a football game, and she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She also loves downhill skiing and plans to be part of the “over-80” ski club at Atla Ski Resort, Utah one day.
