Family Medicine Resident
Catherine Njiru-Sewer, DO is a resident within The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education’s National Family Medicine Residency. She trains at Unity Health Care in Washington, D.C. Her primary area of interest is general family medicine. In January 2019, she participated in a two-day fly-in on Capitol Hill through the American Association of Teaching Health Centers to advocate for the re-authorization of Teaching Health Center funding. She was also peer-elected as a Resident Leader during her first year of residency. In the future, she aims to participate in more patient advocacy opportunities and become more involved with the D.C. chapter of the Academy of Family Physicians
Dr. Njiru-Sewer was born in Nairobi, Kenya and attended medical school at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine.
