Jennifer Hetro joined the team in 2015 as Director of Communications. In 2018, she was promoted to Associate Vice President of Marketing Communications. In her role, she oversees a dynamic team of creative personnel and considers herself a fierce protector of the organizations’ brands. Jenny oversees local/regional recognition efforts through multi-tiered marketing initiatives; works closely with the in-house Grants and Operations departments to support new and existing initiatives; fosters relationships with local and national media personnel to highlight the organizations and team members; oversees social media channels; and provides departmental project management/oversight. In addition, she is responsible for delivery of a comprehensive annual report to highlight the people and stories that make the organizations unique; has led the establishment of The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education’s electronic alumni tracking system to follow employment/retention trends and provide the basis for potential fundraising. Jenny has extensive experience as a project liaison, interfacing with external partners, creative agencies and vendors to communicate the organization’s vision and impact, service lines, initiatives and value.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, she develops strategic plans and presentations to best articulate the mission, vision and goals of The Wright Center for Community Health and its affiliated entity, The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education.
Jenny is a graduate of College Misericordia, now Misericordia University, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing with minors in Communication and Management.
She is a member of the Luzerne County Head Start Health Advisory Committee and was recognized as one of its Outstanding Community Partners in May 2019. Jenny is a graduate of the Leadership Wilkes-Barre Core Class of 2019 and, as a lifelong resident of the Back Mountain, is passionate about the Wyoming Valley Community. She is a proud mom of two little ones and is always eager to jump into a conversation about breastfeeding or mothers’ rights in regards to it within the workplace. In tandem with her Marketing Communications role, she hopes to become a certified lactation consultant someday.
