Maureen Litchman, MD is the program director of The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Regional Family Medicine Residency. Her area of focus is resident and patient education.
Dr. Litchman grew up in Bear Creek, Pennsylvania. A first-generation physician, she was drawn to medicine since childhood and even kept a file folder filled with any medical articles she could find. After graduating from Hahnemann Medical College (now known as Drexel University), Dr. Litchman completed her residency at United Health and Hospital Services (now known as The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Family Medicine Residency) in Kingston. She has been teaching and practicing in northeast Pennsylvania ever since, and joined The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education as program director in 2016.
As program director, Dr. Litchman looks for residents who share her passion, work ethic and intellectual curiosity. She says her favorite part about teaching is the number of lives she will potentially impact. In her free time, Dr. Litchman enjoys swimming. While swimming in high school, she was State Champion in the 200 Individual Medley. She was also the first woman to letter on the men’s swim team in college.
