Rajiv Bansal, MD, is the acting program director of The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Allopathic Internal Medicine program. Supported by Linda Thomas-Hemak, MD, he oversees the program’s residents in northeast Pennsylvania.

Dr. Bansal received his bachelor’s degrees in medicine and surgery from Sawai Mansingh Medical College, India. After completing his Master of Surgery (ophthalmology) in 2005, he began work as a medical officer at Sanjivani Hospital, New Delhi. In 2008, he enrolled in the Scranton Temple Residency Program (now The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education).

Dr. Bansal joined The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education as a faculty member in 2011. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the Delhi and Indian Medical Council and the Delhi and All India Ophthalmological Society. Dedicated to serving his community, he volunteers with organizations including the Scranton Red Cross and the Moses Taylor Hospital HELP Program.
