Yassir Nawaz, MD, specializes in general and interventional cardiology. He obtained his medical degree from King Edward Medical University. He completed his residency in internal medicine from Abington Memorial Hospital and pursued further training in cardiology by completing his Cardiology Fellowship at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He trained at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center where he completed his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, interventional cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He is a Fellow of American College of Cardiology and Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention. Dr. Nawaz areas of special interest include coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndromes, STEMI, clinical research, high-risk angioplasty procedures, valvular heart disease, TAVR (trans-catheter aortic valve replacement), coronary angioplasty and stenting. Dr. Nawaz takes keen interest in teaching and is actively involved in mentoring the fellows in the cardiac catheterization lab.
