The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Internal Medicine Residency Named Elite Residency Program by the American College of Physicians
The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Internal Medicine Residency Program has been granted Elite status in the American College of Physicians (ACP) Recruit-a-Resident program during the 2017-2018 program year.
As stated by the ACP, “Elite programs are recognized for supporting the education and the professional development of their residents.” Programs eligible for Elite status have upwards of 90% of their Internal Medicine residents in good standing with the ACP.
The Wright Center’s recognition as an Elite Residency Program allows its residents access to clinical and non-clinical educational resources including publications on the business of medicine, financial planning and budgeting and the role of the resident in medicine as well as career planning support. In addition, residents gain access to tools to prepare for taking the boards, opportunities to highlight their scholarly work in a competitive framework, and access to networking events with colleagues from across the country and world.
