Jumee Barooah, M.D., is designated institutional official (DIO) for The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education. In this leadership role, Dr. Barooah serves as the face of The Wright Center’s trailblazing efforts to integrate primary care services for all with innovative workforce development.

After completing her training, Dr. Barooah served as a provider at The Wright Center for Community Health’s Mid Valley Practice for a year before moving to Washington state. She re-joined the organization in 2016 as physician-faculty and served as the ambulatory associate program director of the Internal Medicine Residency program. She held the role of medical director of Mid Valley Practice until her appointment as DIO in January 2020.

Throughout her career with The Wright Center, Dr. Barooah has been involved with research, quality improvement, and educational initiatives, including the training of residents and interprofessional learners. She is a strong advocate for teaching primary care residents in our Patient-Centered Medical Home model.
