The Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers and professionals who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.
In this course, participants will learn:
*The chain of survival and applying BLS concepts
*Performing high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
*Utilizing and AED (automated external defibrillator
*Relieving choking in responsive and unresponsive adults, infants, and children
*Effective ventilations using a barrier device
*The roles of each BLS provider in multi-rescuer scenarios
*Cardiac arrest systems of care
The course features both cognitive material and psychomotor skills evaluation. Participants will partake in simulated clinical scenarios and hands-on skill stations. Upon successful completion of skills testing and a written exam, participants will receive a BLS Provider card from the American Heart Association. Cards are valid for two years.
