Eleni O’Donovan, MD is the Associate Program Director for The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education’s National Family Medicine Residency at Unity Health Care, Washington, D.C. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. O’Donovan worked as a high school English teacher and then went to public health school. Her background gives her a strong appreciation for the community in which she lives and serves. “I love living and working in D.C,”’ she says. “I have four kids who all attend public school in D.C. and I am proud that our residency program is based in the community and that it aims to improve the health of the community as well as individual patients.”
Dr. O’Donovan attended medical school at the University of Massachusetts before completing her internship and residency at Boston Medical Center. She has been in practice for more than 13 years. In addition to her role at The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education, she works as infirmary attending at the D.C. Department of Corrections. Her interests include public health, adolescent medicine, women’s health, social determinants of health and graduate medical education.
