Our Contributions

As a nonprofit organization, we’re deeply committed to supporting the community in which we work, play, learn, and live.

Regional Impact

Our commitment to the region transcends the walls of our clinical locations and learning environments by spurring economic growth and development in our surrounding environs. In addition to delivering high-quality, safety-net healthcare services to residents in need; training doctors who are interested in making a genuine difference in the communities they serve; and stepping up as a vital element in the region’s emergency response plans, we are strong drivers of the local economy.

We play a vital role in improving the fiscal health of our community through jobs, capital improvements, and the purchase of goods and services. We’re also among the larger employers in Northeast Pennsylvania.

In addition, we are proud to serve as a successful vehicle for responsibly stewarding local, state and federal funds into the regional economy through workforce development, job opportunities and employee and physician retention efforts. As a non-profit, safety-net community health center, we are on the receiving end of financial revenues from local, state and federal grants, hospital affiliations (residency and fellowship agreements) and reimbursements, IRB and research fees, interest and dividends, patient services, 340B drug pricing and various contributions.
