Community Intervention Center
445 N. 6th Ave., Scranton

Community Intervention Center is a day shelter providing various services for individuals in recovery from substance abuse or any individuals needing help and assistance. This is a monthly support and art group. For an individual struggling with an addiction, there is often a severe disconnect between mind and body, and thoughts and feelings are often shunned by destructive using behaviors. Integrating creative arts can reawaken creativity in recovering substance abusers and can encourage the processing of thoughts, emotions, and feelings that may have been too difficult to communicate.
