Frances Langan, Ed.D., MPH
About
Fran Langan, Ed.D., MPH, has been a faculty member at Keystone College since 1985 and has served as Chair of the Division of Social Sciences, Chair of the Division of Education, Dean of the School of Professional Studies, and Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Strategic Initiatives.
She currently serves as an advisor to the President for Strategic Initiatives, and she has taught graduate education courses at Marywood University and undergraduate classes at Luzerne County Community College. Actively involved in education issues and an advocate for quality education for practitioners, Langan has made a lifelong investment in developing programs to advance education program viability.
Involved in numerous local, state, and national initiatives, she is a Board Member of Keystone College as Trustee Emerita, Luzerne County Head Start, HANDS of Wyoming County, and the Howard Gardner Multiple Intelligence Charter School. She serves on the ELRC-12 Leadership Council, and partners with the PA Professional Development Organizations (Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and Public Health Management Corporation) engaging early childhood practitioners on career pathways.
A frequent presenter, Langan has facilitated workshops at the National Association for the Education of Young Children, Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Teacher Educators, the Pennsylvania Governor’s Institute for Early Childhood Educators, and the Early Learning Network, and has presented on the Project Approach for Thai educators at the Vanessa School for Brain-Based Learning in Pathum Thani, Thailand. A Brazelton Touchpoints community trainer, Langan has also participated as a professional developer for the National Institute for School Leadership’s Early Childhood Education Institutes.
Dr. Langan is a graduate of Wilkes University. She received a master’s degree in Public Administration from Marywood College and a doctorate in education from Temple University. Dr. Langan is also a registered nurse.
